Churchill College Boat Club (CCBC) was established in 1961 to allow students of the College to get the chance to learn to row and compete against the other Cambridge Colleges. 48 years later and the club is still going strong with over 60 members and boats catering for all abilities.
However, despite CCBC’s Women’s First Boat (W1) sitting 11th in the Lent Bumps and 9th in the Mays, their blades have become badly damaged and their progression has been hampered. In order to give our W1 team the best possible chance of building on their success and cementing a top 10 status we urgently need to raise £3000 to purchase a new set of blades to help them power to victory in future campaigns!
To do this, we have set up Churchill’s first ever crowdfunding appeal to help raise the funds needed by the 1st July. The £3,000 we are hoping to raise will cover the cost of a new set of blades. Any additional sum donated as part of this appeal will go towards urgent repair costs for one of the Men’s boats; the Canon Duckworth.
We have some exciting rewards to thank everyone who supports the ‘Blades for victory!’ appeal. Please visit our new crowdfunding page to find out more! https://hubbub.org/p/ccbcblades4victory/
You don’t need to give money to help the ‘Blades for victory!’ appeal succeed. Please share the project page with anyone you think might support the appeal – on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, by email, telephone, in a chat or on your blog. In fact, share it with everyone you know might be interested because the more people who know about it, the more likely we can make this work for our amazing rowers. And we know we said you don’t need to give money to help us, but we’d love it if you could help with a donation too!
