We have a packed lineup of events for the start of the new academic year, and we’d love for everyone (freshers and existing members) to come along for the fun:
- On Tuesday 6th October, at midday, we’re having our annual Freshers’ BBQ. This is a chance for all new members of the college to meet boat club members, to have some free food and learn about rowing. To reiterate: free food and beer, good company.
- On Wednesday 7th October we’ll have a stand at the JCR Freshers’ Squash, including a catchy video. Here you can sign up interest if you missed the BBQ, and it’s another oppurtunity to ask questions.
- On Saturday 10th October, all day, we have our Try Rowing Day. Exactly as it says on this tin, this is an oppurtunity to get in a boat for the first time and learn about rowing. If you like it, you can sign up to row this term in one of our novice boats, and learn to row properly
Sometime later this term we’ll have a fresher’s pub crawl, sollowed by a curry, and also a dinner to celebrate our winning of the Pegasus and Marocni Cups in the summer.
Then we’ll continue with our usual calendar of swaps and dinners throughout the year.
